I'm a 23-year-old 'New Canadian' setting up shop in Calgary, Canada. Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, I moved to Romania in 1996, before shoving off to College in the USA in 1999, and immigrating to Canada in July 2003.

A business/pre-med student with a dangerous over-interest in digital technology and the Internet, I've been taking a break from things for the past year. I am passionate about travel, languages, music, photography, and friends. This site continues to be a work in progress, where I hope to share my interests and opinions, offer a glimpse of the world around me, stay in touch with friends, and communicate with others.

why "reddeyez"?

I have this habit of keeping ridiculous hours. This usually entails going to sleep at around sunrise.

what camera do you use?

I have an Olympus C2100 UZ that I picked up in May 2002. It's a decent digital camera for just getting started in photography (which is me). It has an incredible 10X optical zoom, and decent automatic or manual control set. Digital lets me get my pictures online as effortlessly as possible. When I scrape enough bones together I'll upgrade to something more professional. Let's hope that is soon.

the site looks like a dog's breakfast?

The site is optimized for Firebird 0.7, but still works in Internet Explorer 5.5+, Mozilla 1.3; screen resolutions of 1024x768 and higher (800x600 should still be viewable). If you experience a problem, or would like to make a suggestion, please me.

what tools did you use to build this site?

Everything has been coded line for line in notepad, using W3C CSS and xhtml 1.0 specifications, and Web Standards guidelines. A few splashes of PHP help. Graphics are created/edited in Adobe Photoshop 7. I use Movable Type 2.64 to post updates to the site, along with a few plugins (SmartyPants, Markdown, MT Regex, ArchiveYear, and MT Blacklist).
